Tom Troupe, the veteran actor best known for appearances in “Star Trek” and “Cheers,” died Sunday. He was 97. Troupe died from natural causes at his home in Beverly Hills, Calif., his representatives told USA Today.

Troupe also co-wrote and starred in the 1968 movie “Sofi” and continued to appear in stage productions such as “The Lion in Winter,” “Fathers Day” and “The Gin Game.” His late wife Carole Cook, who died in 2023, also co-started in the productions.

Tom Troupe, a veteran stage and screen actor who appeared in many projects in the late 1990s, including “My Own Private Idaho,” “Star Trek,” “Cagney & Lacey,” and “Mission Impossible,” has died at the age of 97.
