President Donald Trump celebrated the speedy construction of “Alligator Alcatraz,” a new immigrant detention facility in the heart of the Florida Everglades, and warned that the only way for detainees to get out of this “treacherous” region is through deportation.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday visited the new Florida detention centre dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz", where around 1,000 migrants are expected to be held as soon as next month, surveying the next step in his crackdown on illegal immigration.

Ron DeSantis, the two Republican former rivals appeared side by side on Tuesday for the opening of a new migrant detention center in the Everglades. Trump and DeSantis toured the compound — nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz” — built on a remote airstrip surrounded by swamp and predators.
