The Club World Cup quarter-finals continue today with Palmeiras and Chelsea facing off at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Palmeiras eliminated fellow Brazilian side Botafogo in the round of 16 to reach this stage, while Chelsea progressed from a chaotic weather-delayed match in Charlotte against Benfica.

It was with a tear in his eye that Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira bid farewell to the teenager whom he described as “my son”, and although Willian Estevao could not stop Chelsea reaching the Club World Cup semi-finals he certainly made an impression against his new club.

Despite Palmeiras fans' best efforts in the crowd of 65,872, Chelsea prevailed with Palmer's early goal and a late own goal for the winner. Estêvão scored Palmeiras' goal with a memorable strike.
