Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz says metro Atlanta saw between 1-3.5 inches of snow on Friday morning. Now, it’s changing over to freezing rain.You can expect ice accumulation on trees and power lines – especially from Atlanta northeast – where a quarter inch or more of ice is possible.

We'll start Friday with a burst of snow in metro Atlanta between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. After that, we will see a rain/snow/ice/sleet mix across the metro (mostly in Atlanta and areas south of I-20).

We have issued a Weather Impact Alert for likely snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain for parts of north Georgia Friday through early Saturday morning.
