Roughly 325 people gathered on Medina Square July 17 to make their voices heard and to celebrate the life of civil rights activist and U.S. Congressman John Lewis.

Nearly 100 people gathered Thursday afternoon in Centennial Park in downtown Glenwood Springs for the “Good Trouble Lives On” National Day of Action. The nationwide day of protest honors the legacy of the late U.

More than 200 rallied in Fort Myers to honor John Lewis and protest what they see as threats to civil and human rights.

Organizers will call for passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and other voting rights legislation.

Rob Eller, pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia, said change rarely comes from playing it safe; it comes from speaking out.

In Dothan, upwards of 50 people gathered peacefully for a Good Trouble rally downtown, reflecting the same calm and respect seen during previous protests in the city. Demonstrators carried signs, prayed,

"Good Trouble Lives On" is known as a national day of action and brings topics of controversial changes happening throughout the country to the events. SHARON On Saturday, over 1,000 nationwide protests are being held to call for change, defend civil and human rights and to honor a late civil rights activist.
