Second seed Carlos Alcaraz eased past Grigor Dimitrov 6-1, 6-1 to reach a fourth consecutive quarter-final at Indian Wells on Thursday.

His opponent in the quarterfinals will be Francisco Cerundolo, who is comfortable in these particularly slow conditions and who eliminated the Australian ace Alex de Minaur in the round of sixteen.

The 21 year-old Alcaraz is bidding to become the youngest player to win three consecutive singles titles at any ATP Tour event — and just the third to do it at Indian Wells after Roger Federer (2004-06) and Novak Djokovic (2014-16).
