After months of touting the impending release of new, blockbuster information on accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, the Justice Department announced in a memo Monday that there is no evidence he kept a “client list” or was murdered.
A memo from the Justice Department and FBI said that a systematic review of the case involving Jeffrey Epstein "revealed no incriminating 'client list.'"
Two Trump loyalists who previously pushed claims that Epstein was murdered—Kash Patel and Dan Bongino—are now leading the FBI under Trump as director and deputy director, respectively. Both previously faced the wrath of MAGA figures after being forced to admit there’s no evidence Epstein was murdered once they began actually working on the case.
On Monday, the Justice Department and the FBI released a memo evoking outrage from both President Donald Trump’s critics and his most ardent supporters.
Questions have been raised about the hours of video footage released by the DOJ meant to prove that Epstein died by suicide.
Epstein died in his Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His ties to prominent figures, including President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton and Bill Gates, have spawned rumors of a “client list” and alleged blackmail material.
Like Epstein, Zygier had met with his lawyers shortly before his death and was said to be in good spirits. Howard describes how “Despite a history of suicide attempts, he had been placed in a cell that was not suicide-proof and had no cellmate.”
