By Courtney Rozen and Jody Godoy WASHINGTON, Jan 27 (Reuters) - TikTok agreed to settle a landmark lawsuit on social media addiction on Tuesday, according to one of the plaintiff's lawyers, the same day the trial was due to start against two remaining companies.

Top executives from Meta, TikTok, and YouTube are expected to testify during the trial. According to court documents, KGM began using social media at the age of 10, despite her mother’s attempts to block access through third-party parental control software.

The move comes the week before Meta — along with TikTok and Google’s YouTube — is scheduled to stand trial in Los Angeles over its apps’ harms to children. Teens will still be able to access Meta’s AI assistant, just not the characters.
