While Carroll clearly wants to get back into the business of coaching the game at the highest level, he should steer clear.

The Las Vegas Raiders will have a new head coach next season. The search is on to find a coach that will stabilize the franchise. Raiders will meet with Pete Carroll next week.

Seahawks hopefuls may have been wishing for draft-pick compensation in exchange for Carroll, sort of how Sean Payton was traded from New Orleans to Denver two offseasons ago. That won’t happen. Carroll is free to coach elsewhere and the Seahawks wouldn’t benefit from him filling a head coaching vacancy.
