Russian drones tore into central ⁠Kyiv ⁠on Wednesday morning, wounding 11 people and damaging ⁠residential and university buildings on the seventh day of nearly round-the-clock attacks that have upended daily life ​in Ukraine's capital.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Thursday that the first airlines had begun suspending flights to Russian airports following his vow earlier this week to force the closure of Russian airspace through expanded drone attacks.

Russia says it will shutter German cultural centers across the country. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced the move Thursday at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

The Security Service of Ukraine says Stepan Kaplunov admitted contacts with the FSB, while his lawyer alleges the video was recorded under torture and threats during his detention.
