Skies of Arcadia first launched on the Dreamcast in 2000 and is often considered one of the best games on the system. It got an expanded rerelease on GameCube titled Skies of Arcadia Legends in 2002 (2003 in the West) which added new quests and discoveries, and that remains the only port of the sky pirate turn-based RPG.

Skies of Arcadia has been given a fresh trademark by Sega, raising fan hopes for some kind of revival. Fresh trademarks for the beloved Dreamcast and GameCube RPG - including for the game's original Japanese title Eternal Arcadia - were filed on 16th January and made public on 24th January, Final Weapon reported.

According to Gematsu, the two trademarks were filed on January 16 and made public on January 24. Skies of Arcadia, known as Eternal Arcadia in Japan, was a critically acclaimed RPG from Sega that launched in 2000 for the Dreamcast. It was later ported over to the Nintendo GameCube in 2002 as Skies of Arcadia Legends.
