At the conclusion of his first 100 days in office in late April, President Donald Trump made a stunning statement about his progress on tariff negotiations: He had completed trade deals with 200 countries.

The president’s supporters portray him as a top dealmaker. But, at least for now, far more trading partners have gotten stiff tariffs than trade deals.

President Trump has sent letters to more than 20 trade partners, all delivering the same message: Negotiate a new trade deal by August 1 or goods will be hit with higher tariffs. CBS News's Erica Brown reports.
