BOSTON — Mark Kastelic took on the NHL’s biggest man and one of its scariest fighters in the Bruins ’ first fight of the preseason. At the end of the first period of Boston’s final tune-up game before Wednesday’s opener, Kastelic took on Rangers’ heavyweight Matt Rempe.
The 2025-26 regular season officially kicked off on Oct. 7 with three games. While the Boston Bruins were not among the teams that played on the NHL's opening night this year, a good number of their former players did play.
The Bruins' opening day performance against the Capitals brought forth a proud confession from Jeremy Swayman.
Jordan Harris, who made his Bruins debut, got the primary assist on the play, marking his first point with the organization. The Haverhill, Mass, native skated on the second pair with Andrew Peeke and finished with an assist, block and two hits through 16:25 of ice time.
