A letter from California Governor Gavin Newsom to fellow governors in states along the Colorado River is offering support for a multi-state solution to managing the water supply for 40 million people.

The lawsuit is centered on a controversial development near Moab but could impact development in other parts of the state.

Radioactive mill waste has largely been removed from the Colorado River site, with remaining cleanup continuing toward a planned 2029 closure.
