President Trump has repeatedly demanded that Iran give up its nuclear program, including by agreeing not to enrich any more uranium. Steve Witkoff, the Middle East envoy, has portrayed Iran’s enrichment capability an absolute “ red line ,” because it would keep the door open for the development of nuclear weapons.

He made the announcement after lashing out at the Supreme Court for striking down much of his sweeping tariff infrastructure as an illegal use of emergency power.

The latest poll from the Economist and You Gov ,shows 39% of Americans strongly or somewhat approve of how Trump is handling his job as president, while 56% disapprove, for a net job approval of -16. While low, it’s still above other recent polls where the president had net approval ratings as low as -19 for at several points since October 2025.
