A tropical storm is dumping heavy rain and raising flood risks around east-central Japan as it moved into the heavily populated Tokyo region.

Only a handful of intense storms have ever been recorded in this part of the world

NOAA has also indicated they feel a strong geomagnetic storm is in the works. This stronger geomagnetic storm would allow northern lights to be seen as far south as southern Michigan, or even farther south. Of course, you will have to be in a very dark sky region of our state to see any northern lights.
