Lawrence Taylor denied a request from Abdul Carter, the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, to wear his retired No. 56 with the Giants.

Taylor's No. 56 has indeed been retired by the Giants, so Carter will need to find another number for etching his legacy in the Big Apple. It's more than fair for Taylor to decline any request to share his No. 56.

The feeling of being drafted by the New York Giants was surreal for Penn State's Abdul Carter, who dreamt of the moment in his sleep as a kid. "I don't remember the exact pick, but I remember (there) being a screen with my name on it," Carter told reporters after Round 1 of the draft. "It's hard to believe but it is true."
