A stormy stretch of weather is poised to bring heavy rainfall and the risk of localized flooding to the Houston metro area Tuesday into Wednesday. Morning commutes should be dry for most people, but afternoon and early evening commuters might not be so lucky.

After seven straight days with highs in the 80s, the pattern has finally broken as the first of a few cold fronts has arrived. Although no extreme cold is expected, the combination of clouds, rain and shifting winds should bring temperatures closer to normal for February.
