According to an alert by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Texas brand has recalled over a million coolers after discovering the flaw. The recalled coolers have a tow handle that can pinch the user's fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards.

Igloo is recalling more than 1 million of its coolers sold across the U.S., Mexico and Canada due to a handle hazard that has resulted in a handful of fingertip injuries, including some amputations. The now-recalled “Igloo 90 Qt.

More than one million coolers sold in North America were recalled after a dozen injuries. Consumers are advised to stop using them and contact the company.

Igloo advised customers against using the affected coolers any further until they can get a new handle from the company.

The Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers were sold at Target, Academy, Dick’s, Amazon and other retailers from January 2019 through January 2025.
