The U.S. Department of Education announced Monday it had warned 60 universities that they are under investigation for anti-Semitic discrimination and harassment.

In a letter sent on Monday, the federal department said schools could face "potential enforcement action" if they do not protect Jewish students.

Jewish leaders said Arizona State University officials have worked to keep their campus a safe place for students.
