After a thorough search, the Atlanta Falcons hired Jeff Ulbrich for their defensive coordinator vacancy on Saturday. Ulbrich returns to Atlanta where he spent six seasons as a linebackers coach (2015-2020) and one year as interim defensive coordinator in 2020.

The Atlanta Falcons have hired former New York Jets defensive coordinator and interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich as their defensive coordinator, the team announced Saturday night. The Falcons interviewed seven candidates for the job, but Ulbrich always was considered the favorite because of his relationship with Falcons head coach Raheem Morris.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Falcons are hiring Jeff Ulbrich to be their next defensive coordinator. Ulbrich was previously the defensive coordinator for the New York Jets and took over as the interim head coach this season after Robert Saleh was fired.

It seemed safe to say that Martindale would return in 2025, but then the Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts requested interviews with him to fill their vacant DC positions. However, since, the Falcons announced Jeff Ulbrich as their new DC and on Monday, the Colts announced Lou Anarumo to fill their vacant position.
