On Monday, former South Carolina football star Javon Kinlaw agreed to a big free agent contract with the NFL’s Washington Commanders. According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport’s reporting, Kinlaw will make $45 Million over three seasons in Washington.
The New York Jets lost some key players on the first day of the legal tampering window. They could sign a former third-round pick to help fill a need.
The move reunited Kinlaw with Commanders G.M. Adam Peters, who was the assistant G.M. with the 49ers when Kinlaw was drafted. It’s the latest move from a Commander teams that hopes to bridge the gap with the Eagles.
Kinlaw will receive a three-year, $45 million contract with up to $30 million guaranteed, a steep deal the Steelers likely did not want to dip into. He has been around the NFL, playing for the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers, but Kinlaw has at least started to break out.
The Washington Commanders made a big splash in the first hours of NFL free agency Monday, agreeing to terms with defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, two people with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press.
