The Red Sox placed center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right quadriceps strain. In a corresponding move, Nate Eaton was recalled from Triple-A Worcester. The move was not out of nowhere, as Rafaela has not appeared in any of the Sox’ three consecutive wins over the Orioles in Baltimore.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela appeared to have made an impressive diving catch in the fifth inning against the New York Yankees on Sunday, but the umpiring crew ruled that it hit the ground.

“It’s pending him feeling good coming in tomorrow,” interim manager Chad Tracy said about Houck pitching Tuesday. The 30-year-old righty — who underwent Tommy John surgery in August 2025 — is scheduled as of now to throw one inning for the Sea Dogs.
