Garrett Crochet is on the mound for Boston to make his eighth start of the season. The lefthander allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings in a win over the Blue Jays last time out. The Twins will turn to righthander Chris Paddack, who is still looking for his first win of 2025.

Casas was removed in the bottom of the second inning after suffering what manager Alex Cora described as a “significant (left) knee injury.”

The one thing the Red Sox know about their situation at first base is that Triston Casas won’t play for the rest of the season. Casas ruptured his left patellar tendon on Friday and will soon have surgery that will require an extensive rehab.
