CLEVELAND, Ohio — Austin Peterson we hardly you. Peterson, who made his big-league debut with two scoreless innings in Saturday’s 6-0 loss to Detroit, was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday and replaced by right-hander Franco Aleman.

The Guardians threatened just once in the game. David Fry and Angel Genao opened the second with singles. Petey Halpin advanced them with a bunt, but Valdez retired the next two batters to end the threat. The Tigers out-hit the Guardians, 11-3. It was only Detroit’s fifth win in the last 21 games.

DeLauter is considered day-to-day while he manages a right wrist sprain and will be kept on the bench for a second straight game. With DeLauter taking a seat, the Guardians will use Jo Adell in right field and Steven Kwan at the designated-hitter spot.
