If passed, Rhode Island's so-called "Taylor Swift Tax" would establish a new tax rate for non-primary residences valued at more than $1 million.

The "Taylor Swift Tax" was greenlit as part of the proposed $13.9 billion state budget by the Rhode Island House of Representatives on June 18 with a 66 to 9 vote, and passed by the Senate on Friday.
