With the first installment of the DCU in the can and courting success worldwide, it’s officially the dawn of a new era — and executives at Warner Bros. are apparently pretty confident about the future of DC.
The trade reports that the success of giving Superman a fresh coat of paint is rubbing off on Wonder Woman. Gunn, who serves as co-CEO of DC Studios along with writing and directing Superman, has previously named Wonder Woman as a tentpole of the new DC Universe along with Batman, Supergirl, and of course, the Man of Steel.
Slated for streaming on HBO Max in 2026, Lanterns is a mystery series that follows Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and Jon Stewart (Aaron Pierre)—two of the most popular characters to have held the mantle of Earth's Green Lantern—as they investigate a murder in Nebraska.
DCU fans are suspecting some popular characters are about to take center stage in the franchise after some social media profiles were updated.
After the success of "Superman," rather than looking to quickly start developing a sequel, DC Studios is fast-tracking the reboot of "Wonder Woman." That's the word from Variety, who released a lengthy report on the opening weekend of "Superman" and how Warner Bros.
The wait for that Superman sequel might allow for another member of the DC trinity to step up, however. Walking Dead: Dead City is getting a new showrunner when it returns for season 3. Plus, what’s coming on Revival. Spoilers away!
