The Season 3 premiere of “Yellowjackets” hit just over 2 million viewers across Showtime and Paramount+ over the weekend. That puts it just above the Season 2 premiere, which reached nearly 2 million in 2023.

That leaves about 1.94 million viewers via streaming, which is a record for any episode of Yellowjackets. The season three premiere’s streaming audience grew by 58 percent vs. the season two opener in March 2023 (which, it should be noted, was before Showtime’s direct-to-consumer streaming service was fully integrated into Paramount+).

The first two episodes of Yellowjackets Season 3 are out now on Paramount+ and I have deeply mixed feelings. Season 1 remains one of my favorite seasons of television in the past decade. I had high hopes for Season 2, which was a huge mistake. I should have guarded my expectations, because Season 2 pretty much dropped every possible ball.
