On October 14, 1977 — 48 years ago today — vile anti-gay activist Anita Bryant was hit in the face with a pie by pro-gay activist Thom L. Higgins (1950-1994). She deserved it. She worked so long and hard on destroying gay rights, but was ultimately unsuccessful. Of course, we have gained and lost ground over the years, but she never recovered her career.
