We were at the North Ayrshire Heritage and Cultural Services today looking at options for a public sculpture to commemorate Saltcoats’ ‘Queen of the Sea’ Captain Betsy Miller. There is a display of costumes on loan at the moment from Dalgarven Mill Museum of Country Life & Costume, and the Miller's Kitchen Included in the display is a costume which was the inspiration for Lydia Mitchell of Lamlash House, Newmilns.
