On this date in 1964, THE DRIFTERS The Drifters released the single UNDER THE BOARDWALK (Jun 14, 1964) NOTE: This rare TV clip here was in poor condition. I've colorized and re-edited the original black and white film. Written by Kenny Young and Arthur Resnick and originally recorded by the Drifters in 1964, 'Under The Boardwalk' charted at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on August 22, 1964. The song has since been covered by many other artists and is ranked number 489 on Rolling Ston
