The Western Cape Education Department says over 98 percent of schools in the province opened today for grades 7 and 12. Provincial Education Minister Debbie Schafer says they'll continue to engage with the schools on the process ahead. The Western Cape Education Department is urging parents to submit their applications for Grade R, 1, and 8 placements for the 2026 school year, as today marks the final deadline.
